Fredy Clavijo , full name Freddy Gustavo Clavijo Gómez , (born May 3, 1955 in Rosario ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Goalkeeper Clavijo was at the beginning of his career from 1974 to 1979 in the ranks of Club Atlético Defensor in the Primera División . In 1976 he won the Uruguayan championship with the club. In 1980 he completed seven games for Vélez Sársfield in the Argentine Primera División . 1981 followed an engagement at Club Atlético Atlanta . There he ran on July 12, 1981 in the 3: 4 defeat in Montevideo against the Uruguayan national team for the Argentine team coached by Luis Artime . This was followed by an engagement with Deportes Tolima in Colombia in 1982 . With the team he reached the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores in 1982 . 1983 a career station at Independiente Santa Fe is listed for him, in which he ran up in four league games.

National team

Clavijo was a member of the Uruguayan U-20 national team . He was in the squad that took part in the 1974 Junior South American Championship in Chile . The team became vice-South American champions. During the tournament he was not used by coach Carlos Silva Cabrera . He was also a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed at least the 0-0 draw ending international game on June 15, 1977 against England. In total, he should have completed two international matches that year.
