Free! is the title of the tenth album by the a cappella group Wise Guys ; It was released on February 15, 2008 and rose to number 2 in the German and 67th on the Austrian album charts.

The album contains 21 tracks, 20 of which are a cappella pieces . In addition to the regular version, the piece Paris was also recorded in a version with the Bremen Philharmonic . The Wise Guys gave a concert with them on June 28th and 29th, 2007. On their website they wrote: “ For number 21 we have a whole Philharmonic orchestra at the start. If not a cappella, then really! “Furthermore, 20 out of 21 pieces are entirely self-written. With Schiller , they used a composition by Michael Jackson and wrote a German text for it.

In contrast to its predecessors, Radio , Where the pepper grows and Klartext , the CD does not contain a hidden title .

On August 17, 2012 she was awarded the gold record .

Preview

On February 14, 2008, one day before the CD was released, a preview of the CD took place in Cologne's E-Werk . In addition to the songs listed below, the new pieces I want to you , Everything in the air , Nonverbal Communication , Slow and Torment you fit were sung. With this, all songs except number three and Herbst am See have already been sung live.

Live songs

• The song ChaChaCha auf'm Dach was already written in the spring of 2004, but was rarely sung live after that.
• The songs Relativ , Schiller , We had a good time , Seemann , Sonnenschein , Every Saturday and Paris have been sung live since mid-2007.
• The songs It's not always easy and Meine Deutschlehrerin have been sung live since the end of 2007.
• The song At the Beginning , which also served as the opener , and the song The First Warm Days have been sung live since the beginning of 2008.
• As a surprise, the song Das Wasser was sung live for the first time in 2008 at the open air concert at the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne.

Chart placements

The CD entered the German album charts at number 2 and stayed in the top 100 for 26 weeks. In addition, Frei! on November 29, 2009 received the Golden Record award for 100,000 albums sold live in the Congres Centrum Hamburg .
