Frenetic Films is a member of ProCinema , the umbrella association of Swiss cinema and film distribution companies, of the Swiss Studio Film Association and of filmdistribution Schweiz . The company is entered in the official lending register of the Federal Office of Culture . With Monika Weibel, Frenetic Films has been a member of the Swiss Films Board of Trustees since 2007 .

Frenetic Films is supported by the Swiss Federal Film Fund of the Federal Office of Culture , the Zurich Film Foundation , suissimage (the Swiss cooperative for copyrights in audiovisual works) and the MEDIA program of the European Union.

Frenetic Films publishes all of its films on DVD and Blu-ray under the Moviemento label (a public limited company owned by Frenetic shareholders).

Frenetic Films also acts as a production company, for example with Luna Papa and More than Honey .

Frenetic Films also includes prochaine AG , an agency for film promotion, marketing and media work that not only markets Frenetic films but also films from other distributors.

history

The company was founded in 1994 by Thomas Koerfer , Monika Weibel and Daniel Treichler, who each own a third today.

The first film on distribution was The Last Warrior in 1995 .

Frenetic Films has had the distribution rights to all studio channel productions since 1999 .

In October 2001 Frenetic Films, together with seven other European distributors, took over 70 percent of the French global distributor Celluloid Dreams .

In 2005, Frenetic Films was one of five independent distributors involved in founding Indie Circle , a Paris- based company dedicated to jointly acquiring rights and coordinating strategies in their respective markets.

On October 1st, 2009, Frenetic Films entered into a partnership with TBA Home Entertainment , a division of TBA AG in Glattbrugg , for Moviemento sales .

In 2012 Frenetic Films took over the film distributor Columbus Film .
