Friedrich August von Hayek Foundation

The Friedrich-August-von-Hayek-Foundation was established in May 1999 on the occasion of the hundredth birthday of Friedrich August von Hayek . The foundation, based in Freiburg im Breisgau , is headed by Lüder Gerken . The founder was Wüstenrot & Württembergische AG. According to its own statements, the foundation supports the consolidation and promotion of the foundations of a free economic and social order on a national and international level in the spirit of Friedrich August von Hayek.

Hayek Awards

The Foundation awards the International Prize and the Journalism Prize of the Friedrich August von Hayek Foundation every two years. The prizes are intended to honor personalities who have distinguished themselves through exemplary and extraordinary achievements in the establishment, strengthening or other promotion of a free economic and social order in Germany, Europe or other parts of the world.
