Friedrich Flörke

Friedrich Wilhelm Flörke (born September 9, 1888 in Hanover , † March 18, 1983 in Springe ) was a German transport scientist .

Life

Family and education

The Protestant baptized Friedrich Flörke, son of Emil Flörke and his wife Emma née Wilm, passed the Abitur at the Leibniz Reform Realgymnasium in his native Hanover. Following Friedrich Flörke took up the study of civil engineering at the University of Hanover in 1913 he graduated from the diploma and became a Doctor of Engineering PhD .

Friedrich Flörke married Klara nee Langemak in 1919. Five children came from this connection. He died in Springe in March 1983 at the age of 94.

Professional background

After completing his studies, Friedrich Flörke took up a position as a government building manager at the Prussian railway administration in Saarbrücken . In 1919 he moved to Springe, where he founded a settlement company because of poor job prospects. In addition, he was employed as a research assistant at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover from 1924 . After giving up his company and resigning from his assistantship, Flörke had been employed as a department head for the route management of the Reichsautobahn from Hanover to Berlin since 1934 .

In 1935 Friedrich Flörke followed a call to the full professorship for line management and general transport at the Technical University of Danzig , in 1945 he was retired, in 1960 he was given the status of an exempted university professor. Friedrich Flörke, who was awarded the commemorative medal of the traditional community of the Technical Universities of Breslau and Danzig, stood out in particular through publications relating to his subject.
