Friedrich Haußmann (born February 8, 1857 in Stuttgart ; † November 22, 1907 there ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Haussmann was the son of Julius Haussmann and the twin brother of Conrad Haussmann . Together with his brother he attended the Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Stuttgart and the universities of Zurich , Munich , Berlin and Tübingen . In 1883 he settled in Stuttgart as a lawyer. From 1885 he formed the leadership of the People's Party in Württemberg together with his brother and Friedrich Payer . From 1891 to 1906 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Württemberg Landtag and from 1898 to 1903 a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Württemberg 4 ( Böblingen , Vaihingen , Leonberg , Maulbronn ) and the German People's Party .

Although Haussmann's health was already impaired by diabetes , he was passionately committed to the constitutional reform of Württemberg, which was carried out in 1906. In 1907 he was at the University of Tübingen Dr. jur. doctorate, but then died in November of the same year of pneumonia. He found his final resting place in the family grave in the Heslach cemetery in Stuttgart.

Haussmannstrasse in Stuttgart is named after the Haussmann brothers.
