Friedrich Joseph Grulich

Friedrich Joseph Grulich (born December 15, 1766 in Rädigke , † November 18, 1839 in Torgau ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

He was a son of the pastor Adolph Bogislav Grulich and Rahel Concordia nee. Schmidt. After taking private lessons from his father, Grulich began studying theology in Leipzig in 1787 , which he continued in Jena from 1789 . In 1793 he went to Rochlitz as a private teacher . In 1795 Grulich took over the pastorate in Niebra . In 1809 he moved to Torgau as 2nd deacon at the Marienkirche. At the same time he was active as a preacher at the breeding and work house. Expanding his field of activity even more, he gave lessons at the local Latin school from 1814 to 1820 . From 1828 until his death in 1839 he then held the position of archdeacon at the town church in Torgau .

In 1795 he married Auguste Henriette Graupner (born September 6, 1777 in Zehista , † July 30, 1843 in Torgau), in which four sons and three daughters were born, some of which died young. His son Anton (born September 19, 1803 in Niebra, † August 16, 1860 in Elsnig) became pastor in Elsnig and is the father of the librarian Oscar Grulich .

Grulich wrote numerous writings with religious, but also historical content.
