Friedrich Kind (1961)

Friedrich Kind (born December 20, 1928 in Leipzig ; † February 5, 2000 in Geeste ) was a CDU politician in the GDR. For many years he was a CDU representative in the State Council of the GDR and a member of the People's Chamber .

Life

Friedrich Kind was born as the son of an engineer in Leipzig. After attending primary and secondary school, first in Leipzig and later in Limbach , he began an apprenticeship as a mechanic in 1943. In 1944, however, Kind was required to do emergency service and thus experienced the end of the war. Then he was able to continue his professional training, which he completed in 1947. During this time, Kind became a member of the FDGB and the newly founded FDJ . Following his apprenticeship, he worked for the youth organization as a field manager in Chemnitz until 1949.

In 1948, Kind also became a member of the CDU in the GDR. In the party, he took over the post of district foreign secretary in 1949, from 1950 the post of district secretary in the Hoyerswerda district . However, this activity was short-lived. In the same year, after the death of Wilhelm Wolf and the forced flight of Ernst Zborowski , Kind moved as state secretary to the CDU state association of Brandenburg . It can be assumed that this delegation of the 22-year-old child was a result of reprisals against leading members of the Brandenburg state association.

Kind served as state secretary until the states were dissolved in 1952, then he held the office of chairman of the CDU district association in Potsdam until 1990. At the age of 24, Kind moved up to the Volkskammer in 1952 as a member of the first electoral term. From 1954 to 1958 he then represented his party in the GDR country chambers. At the same time, he also sat in the Potsdam district assembly during this time. In 1958, Kind was again nominated as a member of the People's Chamber by the CDU. From then until the end of the 9th electoral term in March 1990, he was a member of this without interruption. Child was thus one of the longest serving members of the People's Chamber. Furthermore, the CDU sent its reliable functionary to the newly created State Council of the GDR in 1960. There, too, Kind was one of the longest serving members.

In 1966, Friedrich Kind took up distance learning at the Pedagogical University in Potsdam. He finished this in 1972 as a diploma teacher for history. In 1982 he was awarded a Dr. phil is doing his doctorate. His doctoral thesis was devoted to the history of the CDU regional association Brandenburg.

Friedrich Kind resigned from the State Council on January 21, 1990. He then worked for some time as sales and advertising manager for the weekly newspaper Die Märkische .
