Private
Friedrich II. Mayr-Melnhof was the head of the Salzburg branch of the Mayr-Melnhof family , whose line split off from the Styrian line in 1893. Mayr-Melnhof was married to Maria Anna Orsini-Rosenberg (1927-2010) and the father of five sons and five daughters, two of his sons died early. His second-born son Georg Mayr-Melnhof, who was originally intended to manage the greater part of the Mayr-Melnhof property in Salzburg, decided to become a priest and entered the seminary in 1995. Today he is married and works as a religion teacher and pastoral assistant. His two other sons, Friedrich III. and Maximilian Mayr-Melnhof (owner of the Canadian Jagdvermittlung Gesellschaft) are independent entrepreneurs, which is why Friedrich II managed the family property himself until the end.
