Friedrich Mosbrugger , also Friedrich or Fritz Moosbrugger , (born September 19, 1804 in Konstanz , † October 17, 1830 in Saint Petersburg ) was a German portrait and genre painter of realism and came from the Moosbrugger family, famous for their builders, plasterers and painters .

Life

Eisenlohr and his friends

Mosbrugger was in 1804, the son of the royal portrait - court painter Wendelin Moosbrugger was born (1760-1849) in Konstanz. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Johann Peter von Langer . After a stay in Forbach in the Black Forest in September 1827, he followed his friend, the architect Friedrich Eisenlohr, to Italy and probably joined his circle of friends. He also had his pictures criticized by Joseph Anton Koch . He returned in 1829 and died in Saint Petersburg in 1830 during a trip to Russia at the age of only 26.

Moosbrugger was related to Karl Hüetlin , who later became mayor of Konstanz .
