Friedrich Rappolt (also: Rappold; born January 26, 1615 in Reichenbach im Vogtland ; † December 27, 1676 in Leipzig ) was a German theologian , rector of the University of Leipzig and poet .

Life

Rappolt was born as the son of the councilor and city judge Heinrich Rappolt and his wife Regina, the daughter of the councilor in Zeitz Zacharias Lippolt. After attending the schools in his hometown and in Pegau, in 1628 he attended the Pforta state school under the rector Andreas Kunad . From 1634 he studied philology , philosophy and theology a . a. with Müller, Corvinus, Beckmann and Heinrich Höpfner at the University of Leipzig . Here he received his baccalaureate in 1635 and the academic degree of Magister 's in philosophy in 1636 .

After he was admitted to the theological faculty of the Leipzig University as a baccalaurus in 1640, he took over the vice rectorate at the Thomas School in Leipzig in 1642 , which office he held for twenty-two years. At the same time he worked as an assessor from 1644 , 1651 professor for dialectics and from 1656 for poetry , as Joachim Feller's predecessor , in Leipzig. From 1663 to 1670 he was rector of the Nikolaischule in Leipzig. After he had obtained his licentiate in theology in 1663, the electoral government of Saxony appointed him extraordinary professor of theology in 1667.

He received his doctorate in 1668 as Dr. theol. , had become a full professor for theology and overseer of the electoral alumni in 1670. After being elected canon in Zeitz, he took over the deanery of the theological faculty in 1674 . Rappolt was twice rector of Leipzig University in 1667 and 1675 and poet of Latin poems. He died of a stone condition and was buried on January 1, 1677 in the Paulinerkirche in Leipzig.

His marriage to Maria Elisabeth († 1688 in Leipzig), the daughter of the Leipzig city judge Paul Franckenstein and his wife Sybilla Möstel, gave birth to five sons and six daughters on March 1, 1647. Known by the children is:
