Friedrich Treml
Friedrich Treml , also Johann Friedrich Treml , (born January 8, 1816 in Vienna ; † June 13, 1852 ibid) was an Austrian genre painter and watercolorist .
life and work
Born in Vienna as the son of the theater painter Friedrich Treml, after briefly studying at the Vienna Polytechnic , he turned to training at the Vienna Academy . There he was particularly encouraged by Peter Fendi . In 1843 Treml married the niece and adopted daughter Peter Fendis. Treml painted genre scenes and here again preferably from military life. From 1849 he worked almost exclusively for the Viennese court . His paintings were often lithographed , among others by Franz Xaver Sandmann , K. Lanzedelly and Johann Stadler, which made the works very popular. In the choice of topics and style, Treml was strongly influenced by Carl Schindler .
Treml's works can be found in numerous museums, including the Vienna Army History Museum , the Albertina , and the Vienna Museum ; also in Salzburg and Munich .
The Tremlweg in Vienna- Siebenhirten was named after him in 1959.
