Friedrich Vischlin

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedrich Vischlin or Fischlin (* 1566 probably in Weinsberg , † October 17, 1626 in Stuttgart ) was a German builder .

Under his father Niklas Vischlin († April 16, 1608), who had headed the Württemberg construction industry in Stuttgart as the princely chief builder since 1600 , Vischlin became a princely builder in 1606. Under Heinrich Schickhardt , his father's successor, from 1608 he was the spiritual builder of the church administration in Württemberg.

In a style that, like Schickhardt's style , mixed Gothic and Renaissance forms , Vischlin expanded or renewed three churches in the vicinity of Weinsberg, in 1616 the Kilian's Church in Waldbach as a transverse church , in 1619 the Kilian's Church in Sülzbach and in 1624 the parish church of St. Laurentius in Bitzfeld (cross church), also in 1626 the Georgskirche in Rotfelden near Calw (cross church). He restored other churches, for example in 1620 in Ochsenbach near Brackenheim , 1622 in Gölshausen near Bretten and 1625 in Freudenstadt .
