Friedrich Voges

Friedrich Voges (born October 25, 1912 in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg , † October 16, 1976 there ) was a German doctor and professional politician.

Career

Friedrich Voges attended grammar school in Wilhelmsburg. After graduating from high school, he studied medicine at the Georg-August University of Göttingen , the Philipps University of Marburg and the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg . In 1938 he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. He then worked at the Harburg General Hospital . As a medical officer in the Navy , he mainly served on outpost boats during World War II . He received the war badge for minesweeping, submarine hunting and security associations and the Iron Cross 2nd and 1st class.

After the war he set up a medical practice in Wilhelmsburg. In 1950 the Hamburg doctors elected him to the representative assembly of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians . In 1952 he became a member of the executive board of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians. From 1957 to 1969 Voges was chairman of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, succeeding Ludwig Sievers . In 1976 he was chairman of the Federal Association of Liberal Professions . In 1969 Voges was awarded the Paracelsus Medal at the 72nd German Medical Congress in Hanover . In 1972 he received the Ludwig Sievers Medal . He was buried in the cemetery of the Kreuzkirche Kirchdorf .
