Friedrich Wilhelm Rothenpieler (born August 2, 1945 in Siegen ) is a German lawyer and civil servant .

Life

Rothenpieler completed his A- levels at the old state school in Korbach in 1965 . He then studied history , political science and law at the Philipps University of Marburg . After the first state examination in law and the doctorate to Dr. jur. with the dissertation The idea of ​​a collective debt from a legal point of view , he was a research assistant at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

In 2006 he was appointed ministerial director and head of the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art under State Minister Thomas Goppel . Since 2011 he has been President of the Bavarian Academy for Television . At the same time he is chairman of the board of trustees of the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing.
