Fritz Brunn
Fritz Brunn , even Frederic Andre Brune and Frederick Brunn (* 23. July 1903 in Vienna , † 23. April 1955 in Los Angeles ) was an Austrian-American actor , manager and film producer .
Life
Brunn came to Germany shortly after the end of the First World War and made a number of film appearances there in the early 1920s. From 1926 he was hired by several production companies as a production manager. From 1929 to 1933 he worked mainly for the productions of Géza von Bolváry . After filming (February 1933) of What Women Dream was finished, the Jew Brunn was no longer employed.
Brunn first emigrated to London , where he helped Karl Grune directing the film The Marriage of Corbal in the winter of 1935/36 and immediately took over the production management of Green 's film operetta Der Bajazzo with Richard Tauber in the title role.
In 1937 Brunn went to France and produced two films under the trademark F. Brun in the next two years, directed by Richard Oswald and Abel Gances . Two and a half weeks after the outbreak of World War II, Brunn fled to the USA. Shortly after the country entered the war, he was given numerous minor roles as a Nazi villain - almost without any naming - and played alongside Hollywood stars such as Errol Flynn , Humphrey Bogart and Gary Cooper . In order to increase his livelihood a little, Brunn also worked as a taxi driver at times. Soon after the war ended in 1945, he was hardly employed any more.
