Fritz Dylong

Fritz Dylong (born January 12, 1894 in Königshütte , Upper Silesia , † August 21, 1965 in Berlin ) was a German local politician of the SPD in Berlin.

Fritz Dylong was a trained locksmith. At the age of 22, he joined the SPD in 1916. First as a simple member and then as a functionary of the German Metal Workers' Association , he was active in a trade union and was subsequently mainly involved in social policy , for example as an employee of a social commission. He also served as an assessor in a large criminal chamber .

After the Second World War , his party delegated him to the district representative assembly of the Charlottenburg district in 1945 . From 1946 on he was a member of the local district assembly , of which he became chairman in 1949. He held this office until 1959, when he was still a member of the assembly as old-age president. On the occasion of his 70th birthday in 1964 he was awarded the title of City Elder of Berlin .

Fritz Dylong died in Berlin in August 1965 at the age of 71. He was buried in the state's own cemetery in Heerstraße in today's Berlin-Westend district . The last resting place of Fritz Dylong (grave location: 18-L-99) is dedicated to the State of Berlin as an honorary grave .
