List of honorary graves in the State of Berlin
In this list are the State of Berlin memorial graves covered. With honor burial deceased be appreciated the outstanding lifetime achievements with close links to Berlin provided or have distinguished themselves through their outstanding life's work around the city.
Recognition as an honorary grave takes place by a resolution of the Senate five years after death at the earliest for an initial period of 20 years. In special cases, the Senate can then decide to continue the recognition. The responsible district office bears the costs for the care of the grave, the maintenance of the honorary grave and the grave as well as for the extension of the right of use, provided these costs are not borne by relatives or third parties.
The list is as of June 2020.
The former honorary graves are recorded in a separate list .
