Alfred Rojek

Alfred Rojek (born September 20, 1897 in Boguschowitz , Rybnik district (now Poland ), † December 12, 1975 in Berlin ) was a lawyer , politician and victim of the Nazi regime.

Life

Alfred Rojek attended high school and then studied law and political science at the University of Wroclaw . Since 1919 he was a member of the Catholic student association Rheno-Palatia Breslau. After receiving his doctorate in law , he initially worked as a legal assistant. From 1927 to 1935 he headed the white-collar union and was a board member of cooperatives in Upper Silesia . In 1930 he had a mandate from the Christian German People's Party in the Polish Sejm and was then a member of the city parliament of Katowice . When the Wehrmacht finally invaded Polandhe was imprisoned. From 1940 Rojek worked as a lawyer for various German industrial companies and in 1942 headed an administrative management office.

He was arrested again in July 1944. Then Rojek worked as a farm worker, from 1951 he was a member of the Berlin-Neukölln district council for the CDU , later he became a member of the Berlin city council and the Berlin House of Representatives . From 1951 to 1959 Rojek was district councilor for economy and nutrition in Berlin-Neukölln. He was also very committed to the rights of expelled Germans, he was also the first chairman of the Berlin National Association of Expellees and a member of the board of the Association of Expelled Germans. Here he is also a co-signatory of the “ Charter of German Expellees ”.
