Hugo Köster

Hugo Karl Elima Köster (born October 19, 1859 in Elsfleth ; † October 26, 1943 ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Zehlendorf district

As the son of a senior teacher, Köster attended the Mariengymnasium Jever . He studied law at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin , the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . From 1880 he was a member of the Corps Borussia Tübingen . The State Ministry of Oldenburg appointed him in 1886 at the age of 27 as mayor of Niederbrombach in the Principality of Birkenfeld . From 1890 he worked for 5 years as a provisional judge and administrative officer in the civil service of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg . He changed to the administrative service of the Crown Prussia and in 1895 became mayor of North Schleswig's Hadersleben in the administrative region of Schleswig . In 1902 he was appointed the first salaried head of the rural community of Zehlendorf in the Teltow district ( Potsdam administrative district ) for a period of 12 years . In 1907 Hugo Köster introduced the new coat of arms of Zehlendorf as the official seal. In 1913 he was re-elected .

In 1920, in the Weimar Republic , a new city ​​assembly was formed by resolution of the Prussian state assembly . She elected Köster as district mayor of the Zehlendorf district, which was incorporated into Berlin . He held this office until his retirement in 1924.

Köster was an honorary member of the Warrior Comradeship in 1877 and the Zehlendorf Rifle Guild . As a captain in the Landwehr , he received the Prussian Cross of Merit for War Aid.

He died shortly after his 84th birthday and was buried in a grave of honor at the Zehlendorf cemetery (007/134).
