Günter Elsner (born March 17, 1916 in Stettin ; † June 1, 1992 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Elsner attended a secondary school and did an apprenticeship as an insurance salesman . From 1934 he was a member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP). In 1937 he was in the Reich Labor Service and then in the Wehrmacht .

After the Second World War , Elsner worked as an employee at the state insurance company in Berlin. In 1947 he joined the CDU. In the Berlin election in 1950 he was elected to the District Assembly (BVV) in the Kreuzberg district. In the 1958 election , Elsner was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In the following election in 1963 he was chairman of the BVV Kreuzberg parliamentary group until he was able to move up to the House of Representatives in February 1972 for Gerhard Kunz , a member of the Bundestag . In 1985 he left parliament.

Elsner was honored as the city ​​elder of Berlin on May 2, 1990 . With his death in 1992 he was given a grave of honor by the city of Berlin at the Columbiadamm cemetery .
