Gerhard Kunz

Gerhard Kunz (born February 11, 1942 in Komotau , Sudetenland ) is a former German CDU politician. He was a member of both the Berlin House of Representatives and the German Bundestag .

Life

Kunz attended a high school in Genthin in the Magdeburg district and moved to West Berlin in 1959 . In 1961 he passed his Abitur in Berlin-Schöneberg . He then studied law at the Free University of Berlin and passed the legal traineeship in 1967. In 1971 he passed the assessor exam and then worked as a lawyer in Berlin. In 1986 he took over the management of the strategic planning department of the state-owned Salzgitter AG .

Kunz joined the CDU in 1961 and was a member of the board of the Junge Union in Berlin for many years . On December 13, 1971, he moved up for the MP Ernst Benda in the German Bundestag. Shortly after his entry into parliament, Kunz became a full member of the committee for electoral review, immunity and rules of procedure , which he remained until he left the Bundestag for a short time in the eighth electoral term. Also in December 1971 he became a full member of the Legal Affairs Committee , which he remained in the following, seventh electoral term. In the eighth electoral term in 1976 he became a full member of the committee for intra-German relations, which he remained until 1977. He was then a deputy member until the end of the legislative term. In 1977 and 1978 Kunz was a member of the European Parliament . After his departure, the MP Helmut Buschbom replaced him in parliament. Kunz resigned to join the Berlin House of Representatives in 1981, and he also became Senator for Finance, which he remained until 1985.
