Fritz Frey (politician)

Fritz Frey (born August 14, 1914 in Urspring ; † April 23, 1984 in Eislingen / Fils ) was a German engineer and politician ( CDU ). From 1968 to 1980 Frey was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament ( MdL ).

After attending the Realprogymnasium in Geislingen and the Oberrealschule in Göppingen , Fritz Frey initially worked as an intern in the Göppingen machine industry from 1932 to 1934 before he began training as an engineer. From 1939 he did his military service and came towards the end of World War II in Soviet captivity . From 1950 Frey worked for L. Schuler GmbH in Göppingen, from 1965 in the position of chief engineer and authorized signatory and later as plant manager .

Fritz Frey, since 1956 a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), has been the district chairman of the CDU in the Göppingen district since 1960 and a member of the state board of the North-Württemberg state association since 1967. In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 1968 and 1972 , he was able to win the direct mandate in the Göppingen I state electoral district. He defended this first mandate in the state elections in 1976 in the newly tailored state electoral district of Göppingen .
