Fritz Goy

Fritz Otto Goy (born January 8, 1877 in Breslau ; † October 31, 1948 in Großburgwedel ) was a German architect , writer , draftsman and painter .

Life

Fritz Goy lived in Isernhagen from the 1920s until his death , where he built up an extensive collection of drawings and sketches of local farmhouses .

After the destruction caused by the air raids on Hanover in World War II , the publishing company Land und Garten A. Madsack & Co. , which also printed the news magazine Der Spiegel im Anzeiger-Hochhaus before the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany , issued a series of numbered postcards with the artist's signature the title Hannoversche Baudenkmäler / based on originals by FO Goy . For example, the number 1 showed a drawing by Goy of the Marstall Bridge in its historical environment before it was destroyed.
