Fritz Hausmann (politician)

Fritz Hausmann (born June 6, 1845 in Lauenstein , Kingdom of Hanover ; † May 25, 1927 in Hanover ) was a German entrepreneur and mayor. From 1905 to 1912 he sat in the Reichstag (German Empire) .

Life

Hausmann started a commercial apprenticeship after attending the secondary school in Rinteln and after completing his apprenticeship he took a position in a large cotton spinning and weaving mill in Württemberg. In 1871 he took over a factory (mechanical weaving) in Lauenstein. He was honorary mayor of Lauenstein from 1889 to 1901 and a member of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce since 1887. He was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1892 to 1918 for the 7th Hanover constituency ( Hameln ). On May 19, 1909, he lost his mandate because his election had been declared invalid, but he was re-elected in a by-election on October 2, 1909.

From 1905 to 1912 he was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Hanover  9 ( Hameln , Linden , Springe ) and the National Liberal Party .
