Fritz Rinderspacher

Fritz Rinderspacher (born November 15, 1909 in Hugsweier ; † July 8, 1998 in Lahr / Black Forest ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending the secondary school in Offenburg and graduating from the secondary school in Lahr, Rinderspacher studied economics, business administration and education at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin , Mannheim and Heidelberg . It was 1933, the exam as a diploma commercial teacher, received his doctorate in 1934 at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg with a thesis on working hours and wage problem in agriculture for Dr. rer. oec. and then wanted to enter the Baden school service. However, he was initially refused this career for political reasons. He then switched to the commercial sector and worked in industry and banking. In 1936 he got a job as a specialist teacher at the State Police School in Karlsruhe . He later worked as a commercial teacher in Eisenach , passed the second state examination in Weimar in 1939 and was appointed to the faculty that same year.

Rinderspacher was drafted into the Wehrmacht in October 1941 , then took part in the Second World War as a soldier and was most recently appointed lieutenant. He was captured by the US in 1944, then transferred to the United States and interned in the Camp Como POW camp ( Mississippi ). Here he completed a degree in custody land at the "camp university" directed by Professor Walter Hallstein , where he also worked as a lecturer for business subjects. After his release from captivity in 1946, he worked as a teacher at the commercial schools in Lahr from March 1947. Most recently he was promoted to senior lecturer there.

He was married to Lieselotte Rinderspacher, b. Poppe. The marriage resulted in two sons; Hanjörg and Thomas Rinderspacher. His wife died in 2008 after a long illness and, like him, was buried in Lahr-Hugsweier.

Political party

Rinderspacher joined the SPD in 1930, which was banned by the National Socialists in 1933. During his studies in 1932/33 he was chairman of the German Republican Student Union at the University of Mannheim . After the Second World War, he rejoined the Social Democrats and had been local and district chairman of the SPD Lahr since 1950. From 1965 to 1972 he served as chairman of the SPD sub-district of Freiburg.

MP

Rinderspacher was a member of the city council of Lahr from 1953 to 1980 and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there from 1953 to 1978. From 1973 to 1977 he was a member of the Ortenau district . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1972. He was always drawn into parliament via the Baden-Württemberg state list.

Public offices

Rinderspacher temporarily served as mayor of the city of Lahr.
