Fritz Schuler (politician, 1885)

Fritz Schuler (born April 12, 1885 in Altensteig ; † July 30, 1955 in Calw ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

Schuler, who was a Protestant denomination, was a master shoemaker by trade. He took over the family business in 1911. From 1921 to 1936 he was head master of the local Schumacher guild. He then became honorary master. In 1946 he became a member of the Württemberg State Church Congress in Stuttgart .

politics

Schuler was from 1925 to 1933 councilor of Calw and was this again in 1945. He was deputy mayor, district council member and from 1946 first alderman. On November 17, 1946, he was elected to the Consultative State Assembly and on May 18, 1947 to the first Landtag of the State of Württemberg-Hohenzollern . He was a member of the German Bundestag from the first federal election in 1949 until his death. In 1949, as in 1953, he represented the Calw constituency as a member of the direct election. In 1953 he achieved 43.2% of the first votes there.

The main focus of his parliamentary activities were the interests and problems of German handicrafts.
