Fritzi Loew
Friederike "Fritzi" Löw (born October 23, 1892 in Vienna ; † September 19, 1975 in Vienna) also Frida , married. Lazar was an illustrator , designer , graphic artist and employee of the Wiener Werkstätte .
Löw first attended the Vienna art school for women and girls from 1907 to 1910 . This was followed by artistic studies at the Vienna School of Applied Arts from 1912 to 1916 under Josef Hoffmann and Alfred Roller and Oskar Strnad .
From 1916 to 1921 she worked for the Wiener Werkstätte. In 1938 she emigrated to Brazil with stops in Denmark and England. There she worked as a furniture designer. In 1955 she returned to Vienna.
In the years 1915 to 1922 she illustrated stories and fairy tales with original lithographs, which were published as small-format "collector's editions" by Verlag Anton Schroll in Vienna. These include Eichendorff , Grillparzer's Der arme Spielmann , Jean Paul , Keller's Seven Legends , Mörikes Mozart on the trip to Prague and Adalbert Stifter as well as fairy tales by Andersen , Brentano and Hauff .
She developed further artistic works in the field of book design for the publishers Strache , Gerlach & Wiedling and the society for graphic industry .
