From a Second Story Window was an American metalcore band from Ohio and Pennsylvania that was formed in 2002 and split up in 2008.
history
The band was formed in 2002. After a few changes, singer Sean Vandegrift, guitarists Derek Vasconi and Rob Hileman, bassist Joe Sudrovic and drummer Nick Huffman found a permanent line-up. The band released their first demo in 2003 under the name The Cassanda Complex . The demo was re-released in 2004 as EP Not One Word Has Been Omitted via Black Mark Activities . In July 2004 a US tour followed with Ion Dissonance , The Number Twelve Looks Like You and End of All . In early 2005, singer Vandegrift left the band and was replaced by Will Jackson, who previously worked for End of All. Vandegrift was to join the band Vehemence shortly afterwards . Another tour through the USA followed in the summer together with On Broken Wings , Reflux and Ion Dissonance. In the fall, further appearances in the USA followed with Between the Buried and Me , The Acacia Strain and The Red Chord . In October the band played concerts in Canada with Beneath the Massacre and Ion Dissonance. After these performances, the band began work on their debut album Delenda . The album was released in 2006 through Black Mark Activities. Various tours followed the release. Meanwhile, Vasconi left the band and was replaced by Paul Misko. The second album Conversations followed in 2008 . In the same year the band broke up.
style
The band plays metalcore, to which elements from death metal have been mixed in. The sound of the music can be compared to that of Cephalic Carnage and The Dillinger Escape Plan .
