The Fuggerweiher is a 4-hectare pond near Markt Babenhausen in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The lake is also called Ghagweiher .
description
The pond is located to the south-east of the federal highway 300 , which , coming from Winterrieden , emerges from its left edge hill into the flat Günztal and reaches the south-western entrance to Babenhausen. It was created by damming the Auerbach , which flows into the Günz from the left about 1.3 km further downstream in the Marktdorf . The roughly triangular pond is about 260 m long, about 230 m wide and has a water surface of a little over 4 hectares. Especially in the inlet area of the Auerbach in the southwest and on the left bank, reed zones line the lake; the hill forest of Kreuzlesberg borders directly on the south bank .
Tourism and leisure
On the bank of the pond there is a youth campground for one hundred people and two youth accommodation houses run by the Unterallgäu district youth association . The youth hostel has a capacity of thirty-four beds, divided into eight bedrooms. In addition, there is a group room and dining room in each house.
Fish species
Every three years, after fishing, the pond is re- stocked with pike . Other fish species can be found in the pond:
