Furioso II
Furioso II (1965–1986) is one of the most influential sires in modern sport horse breeding. His offspring achieved great success in show jumping, among others at the Olympic Games in Barcelona and Sydney .
Life
Furioso II was a Selle Français and was brought to Germany in 1968 by the Oldenburg breeder George Vorwerk. He had already introduced several outstanding horses, including Laeken, Jexico de Parc , Heur de Bratand and Mexico , a father of 20 licensed sons, 20 dams of stallions and numerous successful show jumpers.
The stallion with the height of 165 cm was licensed for the Oldenburg Stud Book in 1967 and won his 100-day test in Westercelle in 1968 . He has a great influence on the Oldenburg breed, which is the blood that he used for refinement through his thoroughbred father without having to cross a pure thoroughbred. He became the “stamp stallion” for the Oldenburg breed, as he passed on his correct feet and legs, the well-built neck and shoulders and his striking dark chestnut color with a light tail to his offspring . Furioso II was later licensed for the Hanoverian , the Rhineland and the Westphalian studbook.
Furioso II died of colic in 1986 .
