Futsal Lower Rhine League
The Futsal Lower Rhine League has been the top futsal league of the Niederrhein eV (FVN) Football Association in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2006 . It currently represents the second highest futsal league, as there is still no Bundesliga for futsal in Germany and the German Futsal Championship is played as a tournament. The FVN Futsal Lower Rhine League is below the top-tier regional league, in NRW the WDFV Futsal League West , and above the third -tier state league, in NRW the FVN Futsal State League.

The FVN Futsal Lower Rhine League has been played since the 2006 season. In the 2013/2014 season a lower class 2. FVN Futsal Lower Rhine League was introduced, which was renamed the FVN Futsal State League in the following season 2014/2015.

Up to and including the 2010 season, the league was played in a first round with subsequent play-offs. In the play-offs, the teams that were placed 1 to 4 after the first half of the season played for the championship and promotion to the (then) WFLV Futsal Regional League. In the 2010/2011 season, the league was held for the first time with a round trip. In the 2013/2014 season, due to the division into two subordinate leagues, the game was played in three rounds for the first time, in a round-trip and a third round, so that each team has at least one home right against every other team.
Ascent and descent
The first place at the end of the season, the Futsal Niederrheinmeister, has been promoted to the WDFV (formerly WFLV) Futsalliga West since the league was founded.
The relegation regulation was last modified before the 2019/2020 season: The last placed and the penultimate relegate directly to the FVN Futsal National League, the third from last plays a relegation round against the third placed FVN Futsal National League.

* The 2019/2020 season was canceled due to the corona pandemic and evaluated according to a quotient rule. There are only promoters, no relegators. The WDFV Futsalliga West will be increased for the 2020/2021 season, which is why the third-placed PCF Mülheim will be promoted in addition to the futsal Niederrheinmeister Post SV Düsseldorf - the second-placed Fortuna Düsseldorf III is not eligible for promotion as the 1st team is already playing in the regional league.
Note: There is currently no complete, publicly viewable overview of all seasons that were played in the FVN Futsal-Niederrheinliga. The Niederrhein Football Association (FVN) had an overview on its futsal portal until 2018. Futsalicious Essen has been collecting and mostly published since 2008 (and retrospectively since 2005). Since 2011/12, data has been available at Fussball.de and FuPa.net.
