This episode list includes all 140 episodes of the science fiction - animated series Futurama in the order and scale subdivision of their production. The order in which the series was first shown on television in the original or in the German dubbed version differ from this. The release of the series for the home theater market , however, retains the order of production; after the fourth season, however, the division also changes here.

overview

The first 72 episodes of Futurama were produced in four seasons. From March 28, 1999, they were first broadcast by the US broadcaster FOX . FOX rearranged the order of the episodes and divided them into seasons. Sixteen episodes were initially not shown at all, these were subsequently broadcast as the fifth season. The order of the other episodes has also been partially changed.

The fifth production season corresponds to the four films Bender's Big Score , The Era of the Tentacle , Bender's Game and Leela and the Encyclopods . They were first released on DVD and then split into four episodes each for television. It premiered in the US on Comedy Central , beginning March 23, 2008.

With the sixth production season, the episodes were again first released on television, still on Comedy Central . The station broadcast the following seasons in two halves of 13 episodes each. On June 24, 2010, he began publishing the sixth production season, followed by the seventh on June 20, 2012. On September 4, 2013, the first broadcast of Futurama concluded with the 140th episode.

For the home cinema market, the series was released on DVD in staggered box sets , sometimes also on VHS or Blu-ray . Up to the fourth season, the boxes correspond to the production seasons. The films are available individually on DVD, but are not grouped together as a season, so that the counting of the DVD release continues after season 5. At the same time, as with the first broadcast, the production series will be split into two smaller ones. The sixth production season is distributed in DVD boxes as seasons 5 and 6, the seventh as seasons 7 and 8.
