Gödringen is a district of the town of Sarstedt in Lower Saxony and is located on the main road L 410 east of the center of Sarstedt.
history
Gödringen was first mentioned in 1103 as Guderinga . The place name changed via Guderinge, Göderinge to Gödringen.
The place became famous for its sand pits . An attempt to mine potash around 1900 failed and was discontinued.
Gödringen was incorporated into the city of Sarstedt through the regional reform on March 1, 1974 together with Heisede , Giften , Hotteln , Ruthe and Schliekum .

Culture and sights
There is a kindergarten of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt , a fire station of the volunteer fire brigade Gödringen, the next elementary school is in Sarstedt.
Today the St. Nicolai Church stands on a hill that was a pagan place of worship in pre-Christian times.
Personalities
The Protestant martyr Johannes Bissendorf worked as pastor in Gödringen from 1621 to 1627/29 .
