The Göschberg , formerly called Geßberg , is 620.6  m above sea level. NN high mountain of the Franconian Alb in the municipal areas of Seubersdorf and Deining in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt , Bavaria ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The Göschberg lies between Seubersdorf in the east-southeast and Pirkach , a part of the municipality of Deining in the west; its top belongs to the municipality of Seubersdorf. The border between the southern and central Franconian Alb runs over the mountain.

Landscape and geology

The Göschberg and surrounding mountains, some of which also exceed the 600-meter height line , are densely forested and are not used for agriculture. Due to the forest, which is already shown on the oldest maps, the mountain looks quite uniform, but this is deceptive. It is richly structured by numerous rocky bars, many depressions and valleys. Rock groups that can be traced back to the growth of sponges in the reef zones of the former Jura Sea can be found on and around the Göschberg.

In a dispute over Holzmark rights, the mountain was mentioned as Geßberg in 1452 .

Telecommunication tower Seubersdorf

On the top of the Göschberg, as on the Dillberg, there is a telecommunications tower that can be seen from afar because of its good location . The Seubersdorf telecommunications tower is a 128 m high reinforced concrete tower ( type tower ) and broadcasts a private radio program; Radio Charivari, Regensburg is broadcast on the frequency 94.0 MHz with 1 kW transmission power. Cell phone antennas are also located on its mast.
