Günter Müggenburg

Günter Müggenburg (born March 3, 1926 in Essen , † November 21, 2002 in Bonn ) was a German journalist for ARD .

Life

Müggenburg was born in Essen as the son of Steiger Fritz Müggenburg .

After working and military service , he attended high school (Abitur 1946). He then studied political science and history at Missouri State University from 1952 to 1953 .

From 1963, Müggenburg worked for Westdeutscher Rundfunk and ARD for 20 years , as studio manager in Bonn and moderator of the report from Bonn from 1965 to 1969 and as editor-in-chief of Tagesschau from 1978 to 1983.

Private

Müggenburg was married to Erika Müggenburg, b. Gassmüller (1929-2014).

Honors

Müggenburg was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on September 28, 1995 .
