Günter Papendell

Günter Papendell (* 1975 in Krefeld ) is a German opera, oratorio, lieder and concert singer ( baritone ).

Life

Papendell grew up in Augsburg . In the Fuggerstadt he attended the St. Stephan high school. His musical career began with the Augsburger Domsingknaben . At the age of 16 he took professional singing lessons from Tobias Meisberger. From 1998 to 2005 he studied singing at the music academies in Cologne and Munich. He was significantly influenced by, among others, Kurt Moll , Daphne Evangelatos , Helmut Deutsch , Malcom Martineau , Rudolf Piernay and Peter Berne .

The artist was a prize winner and finalist in several important competitions such as B. the ARD music competition, the Belvedere singing competition and the New Voices. He is also an art sponsor of the city of Augsburg.

From 2004 to 2007 the artist was a member of the ensemble at the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen. There he sang a. a. Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia , the Conte Almavia in Le nozze di Figaro or Don Giovanni in the opera of the same name by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart . In the 2007/08 season, Papendell moved to the Komische Oper Berlin , where he has played the following roles, among others: Marcel in La Bohème , Förster in The Cunning Little Fox, Konther in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg , Germont in La traviata , Mary in The Soldiers , Achilla in Giulio Cesare and Eugen in Eugen Onegin .

Guest engagements took the singer to the music stages of Munich, Mannheim, Weimar, Mainz, Nuremberg, Dortmund, Bremen etc.

In addition to his stage presence, Papendell is active as a lieder and concert singer. In this regard, he has performed in the Berlin Philharmonic, in the Munich Prinzregententheater, at the Schumann Festival in Lodz and in the Kurhausparktheater in Augsburg . As an oratorio singer, he cultivates works by Johann Sebastian Bach , Anton Bruckner , Joseph Haydn and Carl Orff .
