Günter Zamp Kelp
Günter Zamp Kelp (born August 26, 1941 in Bistritz , Transylvania ) is an Austrian architect and university professor i. R., who lives and works in Berlin .
Training and works
In 1967 he finished studying architecture at the Vienna University of Technology , where he was assistant to Karl Schwanzer until 1969 . In the same year Zamp Kelp founded the architects and artists group Haus-Rucker-Co in Vienna together with the architect Laurids Ortner and the painter Klaus Pinter , which was active until 1992. In parallel to his work as an architect and artist (three times at documenta 1972, 1977, 1982), he held various visiting professorships, including at Cornell University (1981), the Städelsche Kunstinstitut (1988) and the Vienna University of Technology (1995). In 1988 he accepted the call to the Berlin University of the Arts , where he taught building planning, interior design and communication technology until 2009.
After the dissolution of Haus-Rucker-Co in 1992, the Neanderthal Museum in Mettmann near Düsseldorf was built in 1993–96 together with Julius Krauss and Arno Brandlhuber, the Haus vor dem Wind 2000–2006 in the Rheinhafen Düsseldorf , as well as together with the interior designer neo.studio (Neumann Schneider Architects) 2007 the Kunsthalle Mainz in the Rheinhafen of Mainz .
