The Günther-Klotz facility is located between the districts of Grünwinkel , Mühlburg , Weststadt , Südweststadt and Beiertheim-Bulach along the Alb , in the south of the former “Beiertheimer Feld” area. In the east it borders on the allotment garden area "Beiertheimer Feld" that has emerged from it. In the southeast, the Günther Klotz facility borders the Europa-Sportpark Karlsruhe, consisting of the Europabad, the Europahalle and the Beiertheimer Stadium. In the south it is separated from Beiertheim-Bulach by the Südtangente or the L 605. In the west, the complex is bounded by the Südtangente or the area of the Verein der Gartenfreunde im Albgrün eV von Grünwinkel, in the north the B10 and Wilhelm-Baur-Straße mark the boundary.

The next public transport stops are “Europabad / Europahalle” and “Bannwaldallee” in the south and “Kühler Krug” in the north. The Karl-Wolf-Weg, which is open for pedestrians, cyclists and inline skaters, extends almost the entire length of the facility, but not for cars.

description

The “Brauhaus Kühler Krug” restaurant and a playground as well as fixed sports equipment are located in the northern part of the facility. In the center are the model boat lake and the row boat lake. A former Alb bridge leads to a platform in the rowing boat lake, where rowing boats can be borrowed. If the ice is thick enough in winter, skating on the rowing boat lake is permitted. South of the lakes is an elevation that is colloquially called "Mount Klotz" and is also used as a toboggan hill when it is snowing. Behind the hill is another playground, including a climbing tower.

There has been a water adventure trail along the Alb since 2004. Various wet and dry biotopes for rare and endangered animal and plant species can be found in the facility. There is a designated dog walking area on the western bank of the Alb.
