Günther Krabbenhöft

Günther Anton Krabbenhöft (* 1945 ) is a German male model .

Early years

According to the company, Krabbenhöft was born in 1945 and grew up with four siblings in a rural area near Hanover . After an apprenticeship as a chef, he worked in this profession for around 50 years. From a marriage that he entered into at the age of 25 and divorced ten years later, he has a daughter whom he raised alone for ten years , according to his own statements, anti-authoritarian . He also worked for a number of years in end-of- life care with AIDS patients .

He has lived in Berlin since the 1970s , initially in Moabit , and since the 1980s in Kreuzberg in a shared apartment . He has two grandchildren.

Designation as "hipster grandpa"

Krabbenhöft has been visiting various clubs in the Berlin techno scene , such as Berghain , Sisyphos , Club der Visionaere or Kater Blau , which has regularly attracted media attention, especially through the distribution of selfies, since February 2015 . In 2015 he was mentioned in an article in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . In the summer of 2015, Krabbenhöft became known worldwide as an internet phenomenon after being photographed in July at the Berlin Admiralbrücke and a little later at the Kottbusser Tor in the Berlin subway , and the photos were then spread on social networks . The magazine Cosmopolitan reported on it, praised Krabbenhöft's emphatically elegant clothing style and called him a "fashionable grandpa". Thereupon publications from home and abroad reported on him as supposedly “ Berlin's oldest hipster ”, “hipster pensioner vom Kotti” or “Berlin's coolest grandpa”. The Huffington Post called him "officially the world's most fashionable grandpa".

Krabbenhöft is being marketed as a model by a Berlin advertising agency. His trademarks include a bowler hat and a vest .
