Günther von Lojewski

Günther von Lojewski (born June 11, 1935 in Berlin ) is a German journalist . From 1989 to 1997 he was director of the broadcaster Free Berlin (SFB) .

Life

Günther von Lojewski studied history, German and political science. In 1967 he was with Max Braubach at the philosophical faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn with the dissertation Bavaria's way to Cologne. PhD in history of Bavarian diocese politics in the 2nd half of the 16th century . As a student, he became a member of the student union singers Bardia Bonn in the German singers and the university singers Skalden zu Innsbruck .

Von Lojewski's journalistic career began in 1960 as a trainee for the Hannoversche Allgemeine and from 1964 as a domestic policy editor for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in the print sector. When he switched to radio in 1969, he took over the management of the ZDF news department and introduced the heute-journal ; from 1977 he became head and moderator of the report editorial team at Bayerischer Rundfunk . In April 1989 he was elected as SFB director. He held this position until 1997. He played a key role in the restructuring of the broadcasting landscape in Central Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the structural adjustments within ARD .

Günther von Lojewski is an expert in broadcasting policy and media law ; he has been an honorary professor at the Free University of Berlin since 1997 .

Relationships

Gunther von Lojewski is not closely related to the journalist and former Heute-Journal presenter Wolf von Lojewski . Both were born in Berlin; Both fathers, Werner and Erich, were journalists and knew each other.
