GAIA-X
GAIA-X is a project to build an efficient and competitive, secure and trustworthy data infrastructure for Europe, which is supported by representatives of the German federal government , business and science. The name of the project derives from one of the first out of the chaos caused Greek deities Gaia from that in mythology personified Earth for the woman in labor is. The project was presented to the general public at the 2019 Digital Summit in Dortmund.

solution
The project objectives are to be achieved by networking existing central and decentralized infrastructures to form a system, which together form a "digital ecosystem". Features of this ecosystem are

In order to achieve the GAIA-X project goals, a legal organization was founded in the first half of 2020 . At the same time, the test of the technical concept is to be pushed ahead in the second quarter of 2020, which is to be followed by " live operation " with service providers and users by the beginning of 2021 . The extended project phase with over 300 companies and organizations began at the beginning of June 2020. The project is to be modeled on the Airbus consortium . The founding members include a. Amadeus , Atos , Beckhoff Automation , BMW , Bosch , the German Internet hub De-Cix , Deutsche Telekom , the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft , the Friedhelm-Loh Group , PlusServer , Orange , SAP and Siemens .
