history

Memorial in Gaśno

Gaśno was founded by Hauländer before 1796 . In 1881 the place comprised 20 houses, 198 residents and 298 acres of land.

On March 12, 1863, during the January uprising at Gaśno , a skirmish broke out in which Polish rebels were driven into the river by the Tsar's troops and drowned. A memorial there still commemorates the victims today.

From 1975 to 1998 Gaśno was part of the Płock Voivodeship .
