Gaden (Abensberg)

The village of Gaden is a district of the town of Abensberg in the Kelheim district in Lower Bavaria .

The place is located in the Abenstal plain , southeast of the town of Abensberg and is almost spatially integrated with it. The village is bounded to the west by federal highway 16 and to the north by state highway 2144. Regensburg is about 45 km to the east and Ingolstadt 30 km to the west. Munich is about 90 km south of the town.

history

The Schwaige (= cattle husbandry) Gaden was in the domain of the Lords of Abensberg. In 1307, "Wernhard and Ulrich", Lords of Abensberg, gave Biburg Abbey their Schwaige in Gaden as a "guarantee". In 1323 "Herr Ulrich III." Gave the Rohr monastery 300 cheeses a year at 4 pounds Regensburg pfennig each from his Schwaige Gaden for a daily mass and an anniversary. In 1587 Ulrich Neumayer was Schwaiger zu Gaden. After changing ownership several times, she acquired Anna Schönbucherin during the Thirty Years' War . To the west of the village is the "Napoleonshöhe", from which Emperor Napoleon led the Battle of Abensberg .

Economy and Infrastructure

In the easily accessible village, only a few agriculture is still practiced. Residential development prevails. To the east of the village there is an industrial area in which the international automotive supplier Kromberg & Schubert has a branch.
