Galgenschanze

Galgenschanze is a city district in the western inner city of Kaiserslautern . The stop of the same name on the Biebermühlbahn is in the neighboring district of Bännjerrück / Karl-Pfaff-Siedlung .

location

The quarter is bounded in the north by Pariser Strasse, in the east by Goethestrasse and in the south by Langenfeldstrasse and Bännjerstrasse.

history

The term Galgenschanze was coined during the Napoleonic Wars. The area was included in the town's settlement planning around 1910. Part of the area was already inhabited before 1933. The quarter was originally strongly influenced by the neighborhood to Pfaff Industriesysteme und Maschinen AG . In the street An der Feuerwache there is a meeting place Galgenschanze with two conference rooms.
