The Betzenberg is a 285 meter high mountain in Kaiserslautern . It rises about 50 meters above the urban area and gives the district of the same name its name. He is known as the namesake for the Betzenberg Stadium (colloquially Betze ), which is now called the Fritz Walter Stadium . This is where 1. FC Kaiserslautern plays its home games.

The Betzenberg is just south of the Kaiserslautern main station and the Mannheim – Saarbrücken railway . The southern end of the Betzenberg merges into the Palatinate Forest .

The Betzenberg district is relatively young. Its construction began in 1967, only the buildings below and in the vicinity of the stadium are older. In order to make the construction of the district possible, parts of the previous landscape protection area “Palatinate Forest” were not included in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park, which was also protected in 1967 .

In Betzenberg there is the football stadium, the Fritz-Walter-Stadion and a wildlife park . An excursion destination on the southern edge of the urban area is the Bremerhof and on the northern edge of the Palatinate Forest nature park is the Humberg Tower .
