mountain

The Lämmchesberg is just south of the Kaiserslautern main train station and west of the Fritz Walter Stadium .

history

The mountain was undeveloped and forested until 1933. In 1934 there were isolated houses there, after which the actual development began in the so-called country house style . The street names were chosen with close reference to the forest: e.g. B. In the cuckoo, on the Hahnenbalz, on the prowl.

In 2012, during renovation work, a large number of hewn and decorated stones were found, which were assigned to the synagogue , which was demolished in 1938 . The demolition company at the time apparently sold the stones as building material. Some of the pieces are on display in the Kaiserslautern City Museum.
