The gall mill on an information board in Rennertshofen

The Gallenmühle , also "Fuchsmühle" (probably named after the heraldic animal of Rennertshofen ), is a district of the Rennertshofen market in the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria . It belongs to the Rennertshofen district.

location

The mill is located in the southern Franconian Jura northeast of the main town Rennertshofen on the river Ussel coming from the northwest of the Jura . It can be reached via the ND 20 district road leading to Trugenhofen .

history

In the Old Kingdom , the mill, powered by the Ussel, belonged to the Rennertshofen nursing / judicial office of the former county of Lechsgemünd-Graisbach , which was transferred to Bavaria in 1342 .

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806) a tax district Rennertshofen was formed in the new district court and rent office Graisbach- Monheim , to which the mill also belonged. The spin-off of Rennertshofen and thus also of the Gallenmühle from the district office of Donauwörth, to which the place had belonged since 1862, and the allocation to the district office (from 1938 district) Neuburg did not come about until 1880; The resulting district of Neuburg came to Upper Bavaria in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria in 1972 and was given the name of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district on May 1, 1973 . At first, the Rennertshofen community consisted only of the community seat itself and the gall mill; Due to the incorporation in 1976 and 1978, the Gallenmühle has since become one of the 28 officially named districts of Rennertshofen.
