history

Hatzenhofen was first mentioned in 1214 in the Pappenheimer Urbar. According to this, the entire village was given by Count Friedrich von Truhendingen to the Pappenheimers as a fief, who in turn had given it to their follower and knight Elinbert. A castle in Hatzenhofen, a Graisbach fiefdom, has existed since the 16th century , which was dismantled and sold in 1655 (in 1961 a small treasure of copper utensils was found in the building).

On January 1, 1976, it was incorporated into the Rennertshofen market .
