Ammerfeld is a parish village and part of the market Rennertshofen in the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen in the administrative district of Upper Bavaria . The two hamlets Altstetten and Asbrunn also belong to the district .

Ammerfeld and its districts are located in the middle of the hilly landscape of the southern Franconian Jura . Asbrunn is north of Ammerfeld, Altstetten north of Emskeim .

In terms of traffic, Ammerfeld is on the northwest-southeast running state road St 2214 from Monheim to Neuburg an der Donau . From the district border behind Gansheim , the ND 25 district road continues via Ammerfeld to Emskeim .

history

Until June 30, 1972, Ammerfeld and its districts were an independent municipality in the Swabian district of Donauwörth and were then added to the district of Donau-Ries as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . On May 1, 1978, the company moved to the Upper Bavarian district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and incorporated it into the Rennertshofen market .

In 1887 the Ammerfeld volunteer fire brigade was founded.

The Catholic parish church of St. Quirin in Ammerfeld belongs to the Parish Association Monheim in the deanery Weißenburg-Wemding in the diocese of Eichstätt . Asbrunn also belongs to the parish. Altstetten belongs to the parish of Saint Mauritius in Emskeim .

The small pilgrimage chapel Sankt Wendelin from the 18th century is located between Ammerfeld and Asbrunn .
